The amenities on Daniel Island provide residents with perhaps the finest lifestyle in the south. It might be impossible to name them all but the most popular are listed below.
Daniel Island Club- This private membership facility provides it’s members with world-class golf on two 18 hole tracts. Rees Jones and Tom Fazio have each taken full advantage of the island’s natural beauty to offer discerning golfers a challenging experience coupled with stunning marsh and woodland views. The PGA’S Nationwide Tour selected Daniel Island Club to host several tournaments allowing residents to see some of the best golfers in the world. The gorgeous Club House features multiple dining venues inside and out, meeting and assembly halls. The Park Club facility features 2 saltwater resort-style pools, fully equipped 10,000 square foot exercise facility, 13 tennis courts and the Cabana Bar. Membership Options are varied to suit participation interests.
The Volvo Car Stadium & Tennis Center - Home of the Volvo Cup Open World Tennis Association Tournament. This major championship event attracts the top female tennis athletes from around the world. Past winners have included Venus and Serena Williams, Caroline Wozniacki, Sabine Lisicki and Angelique Kerber. Volvo Cars Stadium also serves as one of Charleston’s most popular outdoor concert sites. Celebrity performers like Darius Rucker, Willie Nelson, Sugarland, Earth Wind and Fire, Train and the Beach Boys have all thrilled the crowd here.
Volvo Car Tennis Center - Members have access to twenty fully lit courts for spirited matches with friends. There is a 10,000 square foot clubhouse with a complete pro shop for equipment and apparel needs. This facility is also used for outdoor activities during the year.
Boat Ramps - There is a very nice boat ramp at Bellinger Island on the southside. An additional ramp is planned for Governor's Park. Also, there is a beautiful boating center with dock and ramp accessed by a key fob which is limited to Daniel Island Park residents.
Parks - Each of the ten designated neighborhoods has at least one park. Twenty-two acre Smythe Park is well known as a community gathering spot for events such as Park Day when residents of Daniel Island gather around the 11-acre lake to enjoy a day of music and fun with their neighbors. Governors Park has multiple baseball diamonds and athletic fields for field sports like soccer, flag football, and lacrosse. Children’s Park is a favorite because of the interactive water feature map depicting life in the Lowcountry. Bellinger Island is Daniel Island’s nature preserve and is home to some of the 100 species of birds.
Walking and bike trails - All of the ten neighborhoods are connected by over 18 miles of trail way. Safely walk, Jog or bicycle your way through the neighborhoods over marshes and along the shoreline.
Downtown Daniel Island - Residents say they have no need to leave the island. Thoughtful vision has produced a terrific mix of commercial and retail space located in the geographical center of the island. Retailers fill the streetscape intermixed with professional services and office space. The Publix Supermarket was one of the first to see the future and locate here. Nearing capacity a new section of retail and commercial space is under construction.
Dining - More than twenty dining establishments are located around Daniel Island. From fine dining to a quick sandwich, it’s all here. Try Honeycomb Café for a full breakfast or maybe coffee and a bagel at Blondie’s. Lunch options are plentiful, but Laura Albert’s is a consistent resident’s choice. Other restaurant choices might include Sermet, The Islander, China Dragon or Agave.
