Isle Of Palms Beach

Conde Nast Traveler Reviews Charleston Beaches

Our personal favorites are Isle Of Palms, Sullivan's Island and Kiawah Island. They tend to be uncrowded, tranquil, and beautiful sand. one of our favorite aspects of life in Charleston is that we can take a break from a busy day and be on the beach in about 20 minutes from anywhere in Mt Pleasant or Daniel Island. There is nothing better than the feeling of sand between your toes and the sound of the ocean. For a special treat, we take our Golden Retriever to the beach. Hum...it's going to be 80 degrees today.

Charleston South Carolina beaches are amazing and usually not crowded. I grew up in the Valley Forge area. My buddies would hop up the car and drive 2-3 hours in bumper to bumper traffic to New Jersey beaches. We had to have beach tags, pay for parking and get real cozy with strangers spread out nearby. Now we live 20 minutes from the beach. Beaches are not crowded (except maybe this weekend). Parking is mostly free. What a wonderful thing.

If you are in town, this article from CHSTODAY covers the beach rules for each beach you might want to know about. Our favorite is Isle Of Palms about 42nd Street. Check it out.

Oh you aren't here. Well we can fix that for next year.

Almost all Charleston communities are seeing exciting levels of buyer activity resulting in low inventory of available properties. Overall unit sales for the most recent 6 month period are up 27% over the previous 6 months and median price is up 8%. Home owners are increasingly listing their homes as they sense the timing is good. Keeping a close eye on the market is important as homes are selling quickly.
