Finally summer has started to bid us farewell and those wonderful fall days are just ahead. There is truly no better time to visit Charleston and experience the sights, smells,tastes and hospitality of the "World's friendliest City". Here is a short list of some great events between now and the beginning of November.
Sept 23rd thru 25th The Taste Of Charleston. This outdoor event on the grounds of Boone Hall Plantation showcases Charleston cuisine in a family friendly atmosphere. Sept 29 thru October 10 Moja Arts Festival. The 33rd season of this festival featuring African-American and Caribbean arts kicks off in locations all over Historic Charleston. Consistently selected by the Southeast Tourism Society as a top 20 event. Experience dance, music, theater and literary arts. www.mojafestival.com
October 2 Latin American Festival Celebrate the sights and sounds of the Latin world with live Salsa and Merengue music, authentic food and crafts and plenty of activities for the family to enjoy. 23rd annual event takes place in beautiful Wannamaker Park www.ccprc.com
October 6 thru 23rd Fall House Tours. The Preservation Society of Charleston presents it's 40th annual fall lineup of historic Charleston homes for touring. These homes are seldom open to the public so here is your chance to get a good look at Charleston life. www.thefalltours.org
October 15 Susan G Komen Race for the Cure Get your pink on! This Daniel Island based event brings thousands of runners,walkers and volunteers together for a day of fun, celebration and camaraderie. Don't forget to register! www.komenlowcountry.org
November 2 thru 6th Charleston International Film Festival This 9th annual event offers a premiere showcase into all aspects of the art of film making. Venue is the beautifully renovated Charleston Music Hall in Downtown Charleston. www.charlestoniff.org
