We spend a great deal of time showcasing the beauty and lifestyle of our slice of paradise. Sure the homes are beautiful, the weather is fantastic, the beaches are wide and the taxes are low but what will you do for a living? A new survey released this week by the human resources consulting firm ManpowerGroup shows continuing encouraging news in the Lowcountry employment market. Heading into the final quarter of 2016 projections place Charleston 6th best among the nations 100 largest metropolitan areas in job growth. This great news follows a 3rd place spot in the summer survey. A full 31% of Lowcountry employers indicate that they intend to add staff before the end of 2016. This is 6% above the state average. As expected Charleston employers will be looking to fill positions in hospitality, retail ,trade and transportation and the search for qualified construction and technology will continue as well. Major employers such as Boeing, Bosch, Volvo and Sprinter Vans have invested heavily into this area and thousands of jobs are expected to be created in the coming months.
So as the first chills of winter begin to appear why not spend a little time to consider life without a snow shovel or ice scraper?
