This neighborhood is appealing to those looking for a little “elbow room”. Generous lot sizes and the graceful curvature of the streets make the homes feel a bit more separated than other neighborhoods in and around Daniel Island. There are over 24 homes along Beresford Creek with docks. Of the remaining 120 homes built here almost all have water, marsh or woodland views. Grades 4K-4 -Philip Simmons Elementary- Newly constructed in 2016 this school opened its doors to the first classes in August 2016. This state of the art 178,000 square foot facility will provide students with the latest in educational technologies. Focus on Steam [science, technology, engineering, arts, math] will give students a head start for a good career in the newest fields.
Grades 5-8- Philip Simmons Middle School- Actually housed under the same roof as PSE students will build on the foundation formed in the previous 5 years here. Elementary and middle school students will use separate entrances and exits but will share common areas such as gymnasiums and cafeterias.
Grades 9- 12 Philip Simmons High School- Third level education named after the famous Charleston Ironworker and artist. This school was recently completed. A beautiful sports stadium and field house are already under construction. The future home of the Iron Horses.
