Home seekers will enjoy the many different neighborhoods and diverse lifestyles to choose from here, as well as the variety of houses, condos and townhomes available. Depending on where you settle, you could be right downtown in an historic home, on the beach, or overlooking a lush golf course. Charleston is easy to navigate so typically you can be 20-30 minutes from the beach, historic Charleston with it restaurants and shopping, and the airport.

Communities in the Charleston area vary greatly in their lifestyle. Daniel Island offers island living with miles of waterfront, lush golf courses and the ability to go grocery shopping in your golf cart. Sullivan's Island and Isle of Palms offer the beach community lifestyle many families dream about. Historic Charleston offers downtown hustle and bustle with the ability to walk to fine restaurants and shops. The following general orientation may be helpful.

East of Charleston

Over the beautiful Daniel Ravenel Bridge from downtown Charleston and you are in Mt. Pleasant. In addition to Mt. Pleasant, Daniel Island and the barrier islands of Isle Of Palms and Sullivan's Island are found here. The schools are generally excellent throughout this area. Everything Charleston offers is convenient from these locations such as the beaches, historic downtown, great restaurants and shopping. PleasantI'ON VillageOld Village, Olde Park, Belle Hall, Hibben, Hamlin Plantation, Dunes West, Rivertowne, Isle Of Palms, and Sullivan's Island.

North Of Charleston

As you travel north on 26, you will find North Charleston, Goose Creek, Moncks Corner and the Summerville area. There are many nice communities throughout this region. Homes are typically more affordable in these areas. New subdivisions are springing up as the city expands to the north west. You may want to check out these communities located in this area and listed to the left - Legends Oaks, White Gables, Coosaw Creek and Summerville

West and South Of Charleston

To the west of downtown is West Ashley, James Island, Johns Island and Folly Beach. The areas are diverse ranging from high end communities like The Crescent to more rural areas on Johns Island. Folly Beach is a popular beach community with typically more reasonable home values than the other beach options. You may want to check out these communities in this area - The Cresent, Folly Beach, James Island, and Johns Island.

Kiawah and Seabrook Islands

About 40 minutes south east of Charleston is Kiawah Island Resort and Seabrook Island. These are wonderful communities for weekend getaways or second homes.  You may want to check out these islands that are listed to the left.
