It is no secret Charleston is top of the list when it comes to taking a vacation. This year, we are proud to have 13 area hotels receive AAA's Four-Diamond Award Rating and one property recognized as a Five-Diamond recipient by AAA and Forbes 2017 Travel Guide. The Sanctuary on Kiawah Island is the only five-diamond award winner in the state and earned the recognition for the tenth time by AAA.

We recently mentioned the new performing arts center coming to Daniel Island. Now an exciting new restaurant is coming to Daniel Island! Dockery’s is a 10,000 square foot restaurant that will offer live music and its own on-site brewery! Located on Island Park Drive, Dockery’s is in a prime development location next to the recently announced Daniel Island Performing Arts Center.  Dockery’s is owned by the restaurant group, Concentrics Restaurants, a James Beard nominated, nationally acclaimed restaurant group based in Atlanta, Georgia. The restaurant set to open in Summer 2017 looks to be a destination restaurant on the island. The restaurant will serve lunch, dinner, and a weekend brunch. This should be a hot spot for all ages!

Since then it has evolved to one of Daniel Island’s best lunchtime eateries. My wife and I enjoy their lunches as well as their Wednesday dinners, Saturday brunches, and take out dinner options. Aside from the delicious food and fine wine selections, owner Karen Elsey seems to know everyone and her charismatic nature makes, Laura Alberts, one of the most renowned spots in all of Daniel Island. One of the key factors to their success is executive chef Matt Brigham, who was hired in 2007, and has since been
