Wow...My wife and I were blown away last night at the Gaillard Center in the Charleston downtown historic area. The 70-piece Charleston Pops Orchestra together with 110 voices of the Charleston School of Arts Chorus dazzled everyone with selections from Phantom of the Opera, Les Miserables, Lion King, My Fair Lady and The Sound of Music. The Mt. Pleasant husband and wife team of Dimitri Pittas and Leah Edwards joined the orchestra and chorus to compliment the evening with some of the greatest arias composed by the Italian masters .. Puccini (1858-1924) and Verdi (1813-1901). We have been enjoying the Pops performances for the last 12 years since we moved here in 2007 from NYC. We left Daniel Island at 6:45... arrived at the Gaillard at 7:10, paid $5 for indoor parking and were in our seats by 7:20 for the 7:30 performance. Life is good!!!!!!!
