If you were not at the Gaillard last night March 10, you missed the best Charleston Symphony Orchestra's performance since 2007!!! 

It was Celebrate L'ITALIA.... an all Italian composer's night of 20 instantly recognizable compositions. The first half of the program opened with Rossini's William Tell Overture (immortalized as the opening music for the Lone Ranger TV series back in the 1950's) and followed by 8 of the all-time famous arias from Verdi and Puccini and included the Triumphal March and Chorus from Verdi's Aida featuring 22 Wando High School trumpeters! Following intermission, many of the popular Italian compositions were played, including my 2 all-time Ennio Morricone's pieces Gabriel's Oboe (The Mission) and the theme from Cinema
